East Gibson School Corp. announces new superintendent
OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WFIE) - East Gibson School Corporation has a new superintendent.
Officials say after a year long search to fill the roll, Dr. Michael Galvin’s contract was approved at their board meeting Monday night.
Richard Rutherford has been serving as interim superintendent since October.
He took over after James Wilson’s contract was ended by the board.
Dr. Galvin is from Evansville and has a Bachelor and Master degrees from USI.
He completed his principal licensure through Indiana State University and his superintendent licensure and Doctorate through Western Kentucky University.
Dr. Galvin was the principal at Fort Branch Community School for 15 years.
He then led the Twin Lakes School Corporation and the Metropolitan School District of North Posey County as superintendent over the past eight years.
