Livermore Bridge reopens following two-vehicle wreck
LIVERMORE, Ky. (WFIE) - An Owensboro man is dead following a two-vehicle crash in McLean County on Thursday.
According to Kentucky State Police, authorities responded to a crash on the Livermore Bridge on Highway 431.
The call originally came in around 2:30 p.m.
KSP officials say 33-year-old Blake Hamilton of Utica was traveling southbound on the bridge in a pickup truck with two anhydrous tanks in tow. Troopers say one of the tanks became unhooked and veered into another pickup truck driven by 64-year-old James Heifner of Owensboro, who was heading northbound on the Livermore Bridge.
Heifner was taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville where he later died, officials say.
Hamilton was not hurt in the crash.
The Livermore Bridge was closed for several hours due to the crash, according to McLean County Sheriff Ken Frizzell.
The investigation remains ongoing.
