EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Officials with Henderson Christian Community Outreach say they have received a donation of a ton of peanut butter and jelly.

That’s 2,000 pounds!

Best Insured in Henderson organized the peanut butter and jelly drive.

Christian Community Outreach serves as a food pantry four days a week to those in need.

The executive director of community outreach tells us the donation will allow them to focus on other items for the pantry.

“This will feed about three months of our families with peanut butter and jelly, and that’s a staple for our families,” said Kathy Patton.

Leaders with Best Insured say they’re hoping to donate bread next year.
