Two people displaced after house fire in Sturgis

STURGIS, Ky. (WFIE) - Fire officials in Sturgis say they were called to a house fire Wednesday morning.
It broke out around 9 a.m. in the 900 block of Markham Road.
The Sturgis Fire Chief says there was heavy smoke coming from the back of the home when they arrived.
He says two people were inside the home and were taken by ambulance to the hospital as a precaution.
The Chief says they, along with Henshaw Fire, Union Co. Fire, Sullivan Fire, and Sturgis Police were on the scene.
He says they were there for around three hours.
The Chief says the home is heavily damaged.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
