WEBSTER CO., Ky. (WFIE) - The Webster County School Board approved to submit their “draft facility plan” to the Kentucky Department of Education for review.

Every four years, the Local Planning Committee meets to discuss the needs for Webster County schools.

An architect went into each of the schools to diagnose what they needed to be considered up-to-date.

After the analysis, it was estimated to cost $41 million to renovate every school.

The maximum amount the school district can borrow is $5 million.

Pete Galloway, the local planning committee facilitator, says this disparity in funds will limit what the school district can renovate.

”With the prices and the difficulty it is to getting building products, I really don’t see much building that the district can do in the next few years,” said Galloway.

The Kentucky Department of Education will review the draft and send it back for the school board to revise.

There will be a future public hearing for the final budget sometime next year.
