EFD: No injuries reported following house fire on Kathleen Ave.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Central Dispatch confirms that crews were sent in response to a house fire on Friday night.
Dispatch says the fire broke out on the 3200 block of Kathleen Avenue just before 9 p.m.
According to a press release, a passerby called 911 and reported seeing flames on the side of the house, and the resident also called to report the fire.
Officials say the two adults were able to escape and the fire was put out in around 15 minutes.
Fire officials say the fire did make its way into a bedroom and some of the attic area. There was smoke and water damage throughout the rest of the home.
According to a release, a neighboring carport was also damaged due to the fire.
Officials say no one was injured.
Investigators have ruled the cause of the fire as accidental due to extension cords used for lighting outside the home.
