Kentucky Secretary of State asks for the public’s help
OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - On Tuesday, county clerks were celebrated for their help supervising and running the state elections.
However, the day also came with a plea for the public’s help. A need for poll workers, 15,000 of them to be exact.
Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams says that’s how many they employ for their November elections, and they’re already looking for people.
”Even the county clerks can’t do this by themselves, it takes help, it takes volunteers,” said Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams. “It takes 15,000 volunteers to run an election in Kentucky. We need people’s help.”
Adams says all interested Kentuckians should visit his website at sos.ky.gov for more information on how to get involved as a poll worker.
