EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville police say they have arrested two Henderson women following a shots fired report on Monday.

This happened in the area of Riverside and Grand Avenue around 2:30 p.m.

According to an affidavit, a caller reported that about 10 people were fighting in the area and heard shots fired.

After speaking to witnesses and those involved, officers say they discovered that 23-year-old Elexis Smith and 20-year-old Talonica Johnson drove to Evansville to fight with another party.

Police say the fight was over disagreements on social media.

During the fight, witnesses told officers that Elexis Smith pointed and fired a handgun at another individual.

They say Talonica Johnson then drove away from the scene.

Luckily, EPD says nobody was hurt.

Detectives say they reviewed a video that captured the incident and saw Smith and Johson in a Ford Taurus at the scene.

They say the video showed a person walking in the front of the car before Smith fired a shot in their direction.

About an hour later, they say Smith called Vanderburgh County dispatch saying she fired a shot after a group of people attacked the car with tire irons.

Smith and Johson met up with officers and were taken in for questioning.

Smith was then arrested, and faces a criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon charge.

Johnson was also arrested on an obstruction of justice charge.
