Crews respond to house fire in Henderson Co.

HENDERSON CO., Ky. (WFIE) - A lit cigarette is being blamed for a house fire in Henderson County Friday morning.

That was in the 2600 block of Mill Street.

Smith Mills fire officials say the homeowner fell asleep and the cigarette caused the fire.

The fire was knocked down quickly.

There are no reported injuries and no visible damage to the home.

Officials say the property owner is getting assistance from the red cross.
