KENTUCKY (WFIE) - Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear unveiled his proposed investments in education Monday morning.

Beshear is proposing $2 billion in additional funding over the next two years in pre-K through high school education.

He says this budget would start at the earliest age, providing universal pre-K for all four-year-olds and funding full-day kindergarten for every Kentuckian for the first time ever.

His proposed budget also includes a raise for teachers. Beshear says this budget would provide a minimum 5% salary increase for all school personnel.

The governor is expected to deliver the full budget address to a joint session of the legislature on Thursday.
