UPDATE: 1 of 3 Kirkwood Dr. shooting victims dies
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Police Department responded to a shots fired call Tuesday evening.
Police say it happened on the 800 block of Kirkwood Drive around 5:45 p.m.
Officers say when they arrived on scene, they found three people who had been shot. Two of them were shot in the head.
They say all three victims were transported to local hospitals.
Thursday, the coroner told us one of those victims, 18-year-old Olivia Huggler died from her injuries.
According to the affidavit, one of the occupants of the home told officers they saw someone shooting into the residence from the garage.
This person was later identified as 18-year-old Daniel Alvey.

“The victims - sounds like they all three did know the suspect, Daniel Alvey,” EPD Sgt. Anna Gray said. “At this time, they don’t have a motive per se. But after speaking with Alvey, there is someone else that they would like to speak with that could be involved.”
Officials say that person was later identified as 25-year-old Samuel Huggler.

Through their investigation, detectives learned that Alvey was hired by Huggler to kill one of the victims on Kirkwood Drive.
Huggler was arrested around 5 p.m. Wednesday for conspiracy to commit murder.
Police say one of the other victims is still critical. The condition of the third victim is not known.
According to the affidavit, Alvey fled the scene before officers arrived, but was later arrested.
Alvey is facing three counts of attempted murder and firearm possession charges.
Both men are being held without bond and ordered no contact with the Huggler family. They are next due in court Dec. 21.
