Police called to stabbing in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police were called to an Evansville apartment building Tuesday.

Dispatchers confirmed reports of a stabbing around noon in the 1300 block of Shanklin Street. That’s Fulton Square Apartments.

Dispatchers say it was originally called in as a shots fired.

Witnesses tell 14 News the stabbing didn’t happen at that location. They say the victim showed up there, and neighbors called 911.

They say the victim was conscious, but was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Police say someone was pulled over in the area, but it turned out not to be related.

They say the victim is not being cooperative.
