System issues at Ky. county clerk offices resolved

DAVIESS CO., Ky. (WFIE) - Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet say the AVIS system issues that were affecting vehicle-related transactions at county clerk offices have been resolved.

They say there may be delays as clerks work through a backlog of vehicle-related service requests.

According to a press release, a transfer of systems over the July Fourth weekend from AVIS to a new inventory system caused the service interruption.

Officials say the new system is part of an effort to modernize license plate production and to support the cabinet’s long-term goal of transferring all motor vehicle transactions from the 40-year-old AVIS system to a new KAVIS system.

They say no driver information was impacted.
