EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Sunday marks the 77th anniversary of D-Day, otherwise known as the day hundreds of LSTs landed on the beaches of Normandy in France during World War II.

One of those included Evansville’s own LST-325.

Officials are planning a remembrance on that anniversary, inviting people to come walk the deck of the historic ship.

We are told they plan on having live military reenactments from World War II but on the ship and the shore.

USS LST Memorial Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
