Mobile vaccine clinics planned in Daviess Co.

DAVIESS CO., Ky. (WFIE) - Mobile COVID-19 vaccination sites are available this week in Daviess County to all residents:

  • Tuesday, May 4, 2021 (10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.): St Joe and Paul, 514 East 4th St. , Owensboro, KY
  • Thursday, May 6, 2021 (10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.): Legion Park, 3047 Legion Park Dr, Owensboro, KY

Clinic organizers at St. Joe and Paul Catholic Church say they used all of the initial viles brought to that clinic, and had to have more brought in. Organizers reached out to the Latino community to encourage getting vaccinated, advertising at many of their Spanish-speaking masses.

“It’s really important because Black and Brown people have been hit harder by COVID than any other population in the United States, and we have a lot of underlying conditions. So it’s really important for people with that underlying condition to come out and get vaccinated and protect our community,” said Susan Montalvo-Gesser.

They say more than half of the people that came to the clinic today were Latino.

Walk-ins are welcome at both sites. You can also register at https://commvax.patientportalky.com.
