MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WFIE) - FEMA has announced the mobile vaccine sites for western Kentucky for the rest of the week.
They are a part of the federal vaccine clinic set up in Henderson.
On Wednesday, they were set up at the Madisonville State Office building.
“It went good,” said Kimberly Cotton, a Madisonville resident who came to get her vaccine. “It was pretty simple, you just come in to get your shot, they’ll have you sit down and they’ll scan your bar code.”
“It’s been pretty good, been pretty steady,” said EMT and volunteer Brian Reynolds. “Especially after the storm and rain and everything, I was happily surprised we’ve had a steady flow of people coming in.”
The volunteers are from all around the Tri-State and are contracted by the company Wild Health.
“Each week we will go to a different location so we can get as much exposure as we can, give people the opportunity that may not be able to travel very far, we try to hit places with public transportation,” Reynolds said.
They also offer a rapid COVID test after each shot so patients know if any following symptoms are coming from their vaccine or elsewhere.
“It does make you feel more comfortable knowing that,” Cotton said.
The vaccines are free, and walk-ups are accepted.
