DNR: Dirt bike rider flown to hospital after hitting tree at Interlake in Warrick Co.

WARRICK CO., Ind. (WFIE) - The Warrick County Sheriff says crews responded to Interlake State Recreation Area for a dirt bike rider that hit a tree.

Officials say the accident occurred Sunday around 2:30 p.m.

Indiana Conservation Officers say that 54-year-old Steve Redman of Rockville suffered a severe lower body injury during the accident.

DNR officials told 14 News that Redman was flown from the scene and taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. Officers say he was wearing full safety gear at the time of the accident.

Responding agencies included the Lynnville Fire Department, Warrick County EMS and St. Vincent StatFlight.
