OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - The fourth annual Kentucky Fried Pickin’ Bluegrass Jam Festival kicked off at the Holiday Inn Owensboro Riverfront on Thursday.
It’s a completely free event for music lovers, and there’s some good food too.
In addition to all the music being shared inside the lobby and hotel rooms, an outdoor stage is also set up.
The festival recreates memories in which bluegrass musicians from all over the country would play at Owensboro’s Executive Inn during their stay for the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.
“Friends being able to get together from all over the U.S. We’ve got people coming from Georgia, Michigan, so it’s really been great to interact with everybody,” Festival organizer and musician Kristy Whiteside said.
The event goes through Saturday.
