EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - It was a battle between firefighters and police at the ice rink on Saturday.

The Evansville Hoses, which were represented by a combination of firefighters, EMS and military members from all over the Tri-State, took on the Fort Wayne Freeze Police Hockey Team at Swonder Ice Arena on Saturday.

Both sides were playing to raise money for It Takes a Village No-Kill Rescue.

The Hoses lost 6-4 in Saturday’s game, but the animals were the big winners.

Officials say they were able to raise $2,311 for the animal shelter.
