HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - Companies from around Henderson County were able to find some new people looking for work on Thursday afternoon at the Audubon Kids Zone on the city’s east end.
Organizer Star Huff noticed there were a lot of businesses around town hiring, so she reached out to some of them.
On Thursday, five area companies were looking to hire on the spot. The types of jobs varied, but most were in the food service industry.
Star says this event was free, but just asks one request of the community.
“All we ask is give back to the community,” Huff said. “When we have our summer sizzler and stuff like that on Thursday nights during the summer time here, you know, come out and bring some hot dogs, cookies, hang out with the kids - just give back to the community, sponsor a field trip, stuff like that.”
For those who could not attend Thursday, another job hair will be held on April 15 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.
