Fire crews called to Newburgh gas station

NEWBURGH, Ind. (WFIE) - A gas station was closed in Newburgh after the fire department was called out.

It happened around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunrise Marathon gas station on Park Place Drive.

Fire officials say a smell of gas was reported.

They worked to determine if it was a diesel tank overflow or an actual gas leak.

It was not determined while our crew was still on scene.

Fire officials say there is no hazard to the public.
