ILLINOIS (WFIE) - On Friday, the state of Illinois reported 4,156 new COVID-19 cases and 71 additional deaths statewide.
The state now has now had a total of 1,120,528 cases and 19,138 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the state’s COVID map, there are 17 new cases in our Illinois counties.
Those include 11 in White County, three in Wayne County, two in Wabash County and one in Edwards County.
There were no new deaths reported in our area Friday.
The Wabash County Health Department is holding a vaccination clinic Friday.
That’s at Parkview Christian Church in Mt. Carmel for people 65 and older.
Officials say all appointments are filled for Friday, but if you are over 65 and live or work in Wabash or Edwards County, you can call the health department to schedule an appointment for the next one.
A date for the next clinic has not been set.
Phase 1B of the Illinois vaccine rollout is currently underway.
White County just recently got a new shipment as people 65 and older are eligible.
Around 80 people got the first dose on Thursday.

- Wayne County - 1,569 cases, 43 deaths
- White County - 1,455 cases, 23 deaths
- Wabash County - 1,243 cases, 12 deaths
- Edwards County - 489 cases, 8 deaths
