Traffic Alert: Part of Columbia to close for water improvement project

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Columbia Street in Evansville will be closed from Heidelback to Governor Street starting Friday.

It will also close from Evans Street to Governor and Evans to the west of Fares Avenue.

That’s all part of the “Refresh Evansville” water improvement project.

Officials with the Evansville Water Sewer Utility say those closures are expected to last for the next four months.

Officials say the apartment complex will serve residents ages 55 and older, offering one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is warning drivers that plenty of high water is still present in many of our local counties.
