EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The holidays are over, which means so is the 27th annual Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights display in Garvin Park.
On Saturday, volunteers helped tear down the displays to put them in storage.
It was a banner year for the Fantasy of Lights as it raised a record amount of money, bringing in $240,167 this year.
“We do know that even though that amid everything else that’s happened this year with the pandemic, we became the event that people could come to,” Carolyn Franklin, director of special events at Easterseals. “We were socially distanced. People were in their vehicles, and they could enjoy a Christmas holiday tradition, so we know that we benefitted from that, but we are eternally grateful. We exceeded all of our dreams and beyond.”
All those funds will benefit Easterseals, who assists with underwriting therapy costs for children and adults with disabilities.
