EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Indiana State Police arrested an Evansville man last night after they say they spotted a stolen vehicle.
Troopers say they spotted that reported stolen car just after 7:10 while patrolling in the area of Columbia Street and Main Street.
Troopers followed the car until more units from the Evansville Police Department arrived to help with the traffic stop.
Authorities started to pull the driver over at Denby Avenue near Cherry Street.
They say the driver started to stop but then continued to drive south at a slow rate of speed until the car was blocked by Indiana State Police.
The driver, 28-year-old Andrew Shane, was arrested and charged with auto theft, a level five felony.
He also faces resisting and driving while suspended charges.
Shane is currently booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail where he is being held without bond.
