EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Vanderburgh County Council shuffling the deck at their first meeting of 2021.
During the meeting, Republican John Montrastelle was named President of the Council for the remainder of the year.
This is the second time Montrastelle has been appointed council president.
We spoke to Montrastelle about some large ticket items this year.
“Because of Covid, we’re going to have a significant decrease in property taxes,” says Montrastelle, “that will affect us in 2022, and our auditor is predicting a $5 million short fall in 2022.”
The next council meeting will be on February 3rd at 3:30 p.m. in the Civic Center.
