EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 200 block of West Oregon Street early Wednesday morning.
That call came in just before 2 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, officials say they found a large amount of fire coming from the front of the home as well as the side of the home, which exposed a neighboring house to the fire.
Authorities say the fire was put out just over an hour after arriving.
They say the occupant of the house was able to get out and notify neighbors about the fire.
According to fire officials, the home had heavy fire damage to the first floor and significant damage to the attic space.
Due to the quick actions of the firefighters, the neighboring home only sustained moderate damage to the siding from exposure to the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently undetermined due to the extensive damage.
No injuries were reported.
