Owensboro Commissioners consider election change during meeting

OWENSBORO, Ky (WFIE) - Newly elected Owensboro city leaders were sworn in at Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting.

Mayor Tom Watson, Mayor Pro Tem Larry Maglinger, and Commissioners Mark Castlen, Bob Glenn and Jeff Sanford took their oath of office to kick off the new year.

Also on the agenda, the Commissioners hear the first reading of an ordinance to change city elections. If passed, the ordinance would see a primary race established for future Mayor and Commissioner races.

No vote was taken Tuesday, but commissioner members spoke in favor of the ordinance.
