MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WFIE) - Employees and residents of Ridgewood Terrace received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Monday.
Concord Health Systems, which oversees the health and rehabilitation center, and Walgreens held their first immunization clinic.
Debra Oldham, Ridgewood Terrace’s Assistant Administrator, said the pandemic has been hard on the facility, so the vaccine was welcome.
“We were hit extremely hard at the beginning of the pandemic,” Oldham said. “It was just something I knew I needed to do to make a stand and do my part.”
The clinic gave the vaccine to 55 people.
Marketing Director Mandy Matheny said that not all patients received it, but they’re hopeful that it was enough to continue preventing further spread of the coronavirus.
The next clinic is set to be held on January 25.
