HOPKINS CO., Ky (WFIE) - In Madisonville, an off-branch of Hopkins County economic development is providing a place for creators of all kinds to hone their skills.
Kentucky Movers and Makers have a supply of tools ranging from woodworking equipment to lasers and 3D printers.
The service is intended for hobbyists, tradesmen and women, and anyone in between who wants access to high-end equipment.
Director of Movers and Makers, Brandon Buchanan, says that the access they provide has given people a chance to develop their talents in new ways.
”We have makers who bring in tons of scraps just to try stuff with because they didn’t have that opportunity before. Now they’re able to come in and really hone their skills,” said Buchanan.
Movers and Makers’ first-ever class is Intro to Wood and is being held on Thursday.
