OWENSBORO, Ky (WFIE) - A new program in Owensboro aims to help bar and restaurant workers impacted by the pandemic.
According to City Manager Nate Pagan, the OBKY Restaurant and Bar Supplemental Payroll Program will allow restaurants to pay workers for shifts they lost because of business restrictions.
90 percent of the funds received by a business must go towards employees while the rest can be kept by the restaurant or bar.
A total of $750,000 of city funds will be used for the program.
