EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - An Evansville housing project is a step closer to completion.
Habitat for Humanity put the front door on the first home at St. Theresa Place Wednesday morning.
St. Theresa Place will have 14 new habitat homes built on the former St. Theresa Church and School property.
The door hanging ceremony was done by Habitat with a partnership with The Hollander Group at Baird.
Organizers say this an exciting first milestone for a project that will give 14 families a brand new home.
“I know the project itself has been a long time coming, and there were some delays this year. So it’s really exciting to see all of the great progress, especially the houses have come out of the ground,” said Teri Hollander Albin. “The roofs go on, and now the new front door.”
Habitat says that all 14 homes are expected to be built and ready to move into by the spring of 2021.
