Schwinghamer is a Huntingburg native and was selected for the post following a mayoral caucus last week.
14 News spoke with the soon-to-be mayor about his plans for the town.
“First of all, we got to continue on with the comprehensive plan - that’s the number one factor,” Schwinghamer said. “We’ve got to work with all the industries, manufacturing, the small shop people around here. We’ve got to bring more opportunities for the downtown area, we want to make it better than it already is.”
