EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville students received a special gift as fall begins to turn to winter.

Brackett Heating and Air donated over 200 coats to students at Stockwell Elementary School.

The coats were delivered to the school Friday morning.

Principal Danielle Owen invited the students to pick out which style they wanted, and then helped the students try on their new coats.

She says it’s incredible to know that so many of her students are receiving a quality coat as we head into the winter months.

"It helps them know that people care about them, people who aren’t really in association with them directly care about them, said Owen. “And it shows them that there are people who are awesome in this world, and it gives them hope.”

The school says leftover coats will be donated to EVSC’s Hangers.
