EVSC announces online streaming for winter sports

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - EVSC officials announced all home athletic contests taking place in the EVSC’s five high school gymnasiums will be live-streamed.

Through sponsorship from Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union, there will be no cost for viewers.

Officials say all boys' and girls' basketball contests (freshman, junior varsity and varsity) played in the main gyms at Bosse, Central, Harrison, North and Reitz, as well as all wrestling matches in those facilities can be seen.

Not only will the home team fans be able to follow the action, but backers of visiting teams – whoever is on the schedule – also can watch.

An additional agreement with the IHSAA allows streaming of any high school tournament events in the gyms, which includes a sectional and regional for wrestling.

This is done to help with COVID-19 restrictions for in-person attendance.

Officials say HUDL is an industry-leading video platform that puts the viewer in the stands.

Special cameras follow the flow of play, as the public address system serves as the announcer.

EVSC coaches will be able to break down video and have private sessions with players post-game.

Viewers will go to ihsaatv.org/evscathletics, where they will be able to filter to their favorite school.

The game then can be watched on smart phones, iPads and other tablets, and streamed to Smart TVs.
