INDIANA (WFIE) - The Associated Press reports that Republican Eric Holcomb has won re-election as Indiana governor.

He was up against Democratic nominee Dr. Woody Myers and Libertarian candidate Donald Rainwater.

The three have held two virtual debates ahead of the election.

As for COVID-19 and whether Hoosiers should be required to get one when it’s available, Governor Holcomb said a vaccine shouldn’t be mandated, but encouraged when it’s safe.

Rainwater said he’s absolutely opposed to mandating vaccines, masks, or business closures, crediting violation of the First Amendment.

Dr. Myers said he hopes that if former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris are elected, they will have new CDC and FDA directors and will carefully look at their restrictions and recommendations.
