Investigation underway after man shot in Union Co.

WAVERLY, Ky (WFIE) - Deputies are investigating after they say a man was shot in the chest Monday in Union County.

According to Sheriff Mickey Arnold, the shooting took place in Waverly around 3:30 p.m. outside of a home in the 100 block of South Mill Street.

Sheriff Arnold tells 14 News the victim either drove or was driven to Corydon where an ambulance met him.

We are learning the man was first rushed to Deaconess Henderson Hospital, but was eventually transferred to an Evansville hospital for additional treatment. Authorities said Monday the man was stable and had surgery that night.

A neighbor, who was home when it happened, tells 14 News he heard two shots.

The lead detective on the case shared with us they worked with a witness to conduct a police line up.

He added a warrant was obtained Monday for Bobby Moore, of Morganfield, for assault in the 1st degree related to this shooting.

On Tuesday, deputies say Moore has been cleared from the shooting. They say he has been found and is no longer a suspect
