Arrest made in Henderson Downtown Motel fire

HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - The Henderson Police Department has made an arrest stemming from a fire at the Henderson Downtown Motel back in October.

Fire crews responded to that fire on the morning of Tuesday, October 27.

Henderson fire officials say the initial dispatch reported that flames were visible from an upstairs window and the bedroom was on fire.

They say fire crews were able to make an aggressive push into the apartment and stopped the fire in the apartment where it started.

Officials say through their investigation, 28-year-old Anthony Harris was named as a suspect. Detectives interviewed Harris on Monday and was arrested on an arson charge.

Authorities tell us that at the time of the fire, 21 of the 36 rooms were rented out.

They say no one was hurt in the fire.
