EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Feed Evansville food distribution program is wrapping up soon.
Officials have been out at Harke Pool from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. That’s where three tractor-trailers loaded with boxes of meat, dairy, and produce were given away Monday.
We’re told residents started lining up at 6 a.m. to receive those boxes. Event organizers hoped to give boxes to over 1,200 cars.
While people waited in line, they were given information about where to get food in the future.
“You’re doing real good in a three, four, five, six-hour period of time, and there is obviously a massive need with the mile-long line of cars,” said Steve Hammer.
According to their Facebook page, they are scheduled to also be out next Monday, November 2.
