DUBOIS CO., Ind. (WFIE) - The Indiana Court of Appeals has upheld the murder conviction and sentence of a Dubois County man.
Kyle D. Schneider was convicted of murdering Chloie Lubbehusen in January 2019, and filed recently filed the appeal.
“This decision by the Indiana Court of Appeals gives our community and the victim’s family another layer of comfort and security that the defendant will remain behind bars,” said Prosecutor Anthony Quinn.
Schneider argued that the trial court erred in decisions regarding the admission of evidence, and in instructing the jury.
Regarding the success for the State on appeal, Prosecutor Quinn stated, “This was a tragic and heinous case. The appeals court found Schneider’s conviction and maximum sentence proper, and I am pleased we can now give closure to the victim’s family in this case.”
Kyle Schneider was sentenced to 91 years in prison for murder, being an habitual offender, and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
