EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Week four of the high school football season is just two nights away, and we still have a handful of undefeated teams left in southwest Indiana. One of those is Central.
The Bears enter week 4, with a perfect 3-0 record, and they’ve been dominant on both sides of the ball. Their offense has scored 104 points so far, thanks in part, to a powerful rushing attack, led by Javonte Madison, Tory Evans, and Jacob Boberg. And their defense has been stout, giving up a mere 10 points all season, all to Memorial last week.
Head coach Sean Coultis says he’s proud of his team’s effort thus far.
“It’s not the play call. It’s us getting the ball to good players,” said Coultis. "We have kids who can make people miss and run people over, and make us look good. The same offense with different players wouldn’t be any good. We have good kids; we try to get the ball in their hands as much as possible and then they just make us look good. We have a bunch of kids back, running the same defense, and the coaches and kids all know the scheme. We’re loaded. We have a lot of great kids, talent-wise and character-wise. We have kids going both ways, so if we lose one of our two-way superstars, now we’ve lost two starters and two great starters at that, so we gotta stay healthy.
The Bears will try to remain unbeaten as they host Vincennes Lincoln Friday at 6:30.
