EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Hadi Shrine Circus has been postponed this year.
Circus officials cite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as the reason for the decision, saying the safety of children, families and the community take priority over the event.
The four-day event typically draws thousands to the area over the Thanksgiving holiday.
The circus first began in 1933.
14 News was told the production typically takes a year of planning and ooer 1,000 people to pull off.
No information has been made available about when the event could return.
