Deadly crash on I-69 claims one life

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Officials say one person has died after a Tuesday evening crash on I-69 near Morgan Avenue.

Officials with the Evansville Police Department say that person was 27-year-old Dylan Cleveland. They say he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say they were dispatched to the crash around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

They say a caller told them that an SUV had flipped over, and a man was ejected from the vehicle.

The vehicle was reportedly occupied by other individuals, including three juveniles and an adult female.

EPD, Vanderburgh County deputies and the Evansville Fire Department shutdown traffic to southbound I-69.

They say a juvenile inside the vehicle was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries, but no other injuries were reported.

Police say witnesses behind the SUV saw a rear tire blow out of the SUV before the vehicle began to swerve and eventually flipped.

According to authorities, Cleveland was not wearing a seatbelt.
