Free food distribution event held near Warrick Co. Fairgrounds

BOONVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A free food distribution event was just held at the Warrick County Fairgrounds.

The Farmers to Families Food Box Program’s event started on Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of the fairgrounds in Boonville.

The program helps people get what they need, like boxes of dairy, fresh veggies and more.

Organizers say it couldn’t have happened if it weren’t for their volunteers.

“All the Warrick County churches that put this together, Fibertech’s volunteers, Prime foods, New Hope Church, the local food banks that are helping, Warrick 4-H’ers, it wouldn’t have gotten done without all the volunteers,” said Amanda Mosiman, an Ag and Natural Resource educator.

The event was organized by the Warrick County Churches, Food Pantries and Warrick County Purdue Extension.
