EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Southwest Indiana Chamber hosted lunch with Gov. Eric Holcomb on Friday.
Both locally and across the state, COVID-19 cases continue to increase, especially within younger populations. This is a concern the Governor says is definitely on his radar.
“It’s a note to self and to everyone that everyone can get this and everyone can spread it,” Gov. Holcomb said.
Holcomb says his office and Hoosiers need to get creative in connecting with younger residents during this time. This outreach could be important to getting those people back on board with the CDC’s current guidelines.
“We probably need the student-athletes in college, or high school for that matter, to be some of the spokesmen and women for this cause,” Holcomb said. “To say, if you want to see me on the field, if you want to see me on the court, mask up when you’re less than six feet away from each other.”
The Governor also highlighted upcoming state projects and plans for the next year.
