EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Vanderburgh County Dispatch confirms a stabbing incident in the 2700 block of Lodge Avenue.
Dispatch says the police department, fire department and an ambulance was called to the scene.
14 News was told the call came in slightly after 10:20 a.m. on Sunday.
Police say when officers arrived, they found a man losing blood from a stab wound. The responding officers gave him medical attention until an ambulance arrived.
Officials were able to find the suspect. He was also taken to the hospital and is being treated for his injuries.
Both are expected to survive.
Neighbors say this type of violence has to stop.
“We want peace, we’re already going through so much,” Shelby Williams said. “People are losing their jobs, we just need God to touch Evansville. It’s too small for all this to be going on - period.”
Shelby and others in the community have created a group called “Our Kids Matter” with the goal to take back their community.
The group is planning to host an event showing their dedication to their neighborhood at Woodland Park on July 18 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
