IL surpasses 5k total COVID-19 deaths
ILLINOIS (WFIE) - Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced 1,111 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 160 additional deaths on Wednesday afternoon.
This brings the statewide number to 114,306 total cases. Gov. Pritzker says the vast majority of these cases have fully recovered from the virus.
As of Wednesday, 5,083 residents in Illinois have lost their lives due to complications with COVID-19.
According to the Governor, more than 800,000 tests have been administered throughout the state, including 17,179 tests over the last 24 hours.
