ILLINOIS (WFIE) - Illinois Governor JB Pritzker announced 673 new cases of coronavirus during his Thursday press conference, bringing the total to 2,538.
He also announced the state has recorded seven additional deaths, bringing that total to 26.
With warmer weather over the past couple of days, Governor Pritzker was unhappy with those who gathered in large groups outside.
“Right now, hosting a party, crowding down by the lake, playing a pick-up basketball game in a public park, if you are doing these things, you are spitting in the face of the doctors, nurses and first responders who are risking everything, so that you can survive," Governor Pritzker said.
Wednesday, Gov. Pritzker announced a three-month extension of the income tax filing deadline, and several new programs to provide 90 million in financial relief to small businesses.
