EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office and the Evansville Police Department are investigating a homicide.
The coroner says it happened at a home in the 1800 Block of East Illinois Street.
Investigators were called to the scene shortly after 6 p.m. on Tuesday night.
The victim has been identified as 89-year old Charles Osborne Quinn of Evansville.
Officers say they found signs of a struggle taking place at the home.
“We’ve reached out to various family members - we’re setting up interviews with them," EPD Capt. Andy Chandler said. “We’ve canvassed the neighborhood asking for his neighbors, friends and acquaintances to see if they can give us any further information. We’re going to follow up on all of those leads.”
An autopsy was performed on Wednesday.
However, the Coroner’s Office says the results of the autopsy will not be released at this time because of the ongoing investigation, which is being treated as a homicide.
