Detectives investigating couple found dead in Daviess Co. home as murder-suicide

DAVIESS Co., Ky. (WFIE) - A murder-suicide investigation is continuing after two people were found dead inside a Daviess County home.

Dispatch says they received a 911 call around 11 a.m. Sunday regarding a possible shooting that happened in the 8500 block of Possum Trot Road in western Daviess County.

According to a press release issued by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found bodies of a man and woman inside the home, and say both had been shot to death.

Monday, officials said they are Thomas West, 66, and Jacklyn West, 58.

They told us a four-year-old child was also inside the home.

They say she is the granddaughter of the deceased.

On Tuesday the autopsies were completed.

The results show that Jacklyn West died from a fatal gunshot wound and her death is being investigated as a murder by the sheriff’s office.

According to the press release, the death of Thomas West has also been determined to be a fatal gunshot wound and his death is being investigated as a suicide.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident as a murder-suicide with Thomas West being the suspect is Jacklyn’s death.
